FAQ

What is Rope Access?

  • Rope Access is defined as a set of techniques in which ropes and specialized hardware are used to provide the primary means of support for workers to access and complete work. This is accomplished using a two-rope system. The main rope supports the worker and the safety, or back-up, rope provides fall protection.
  • Rope Access goes well beyond the “traditional” bosun’s chair and back-up safety grab. The ability to descend, ascend, and move horizontally in a safe and efficient manner is the core of Rope Access. Wherever Rope Access can take a worker, the ability to rescue is required. Rope Access personnel never operate without a rescue plan and on-site rescue capability. All this is accomplished utilizing the finest equipment, techniques, and endless training.
